US returns antiquities to Egypt

Today USA returned to the government of Egypt dozens of ancient archaeological pieces that had been illegally smuggled into the country.
The pieces were recovered as part of operation "Curse of the Mummy" and handed over in the building of the National Geographic Society, including a Greco-Roman style sarcophagus, sculpture of a horse and multiple figurines.

Dilma Rousseff recognizes that there's an economic problem in Brazil

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, acknowledged today that there is an "economic problem" in the country, although she hopes that the recovery will come later this year thanks to fiscal adjustments, made by the government.
"Without a shadow of doubt, there is an economic problem in the country. We had a very difficult economic situation," said Rousseff during a meeting with bloggers and journalists from several Brazilian news portals.

US excludes from the sanctions list people and companies linked to Cuba

The US Treasury Department on Tuesday excluded many people and companies linked to Cuba from its list of sanctions, as part of the process of rapprochement initiated by the United States and Cuba after half a century of isolation.
In a brief statement, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury reported that from the sanctions list 6 persons, 28 companies and 11 naval vessels have been removed, including vessels operating under Cypriot flag.
In almost all cases the changes have affected tourist operators and shipping companies based in Panama.

A woman who wanted to go to Syria arrested in London

A British woman who was expelled from Turkey for allegedly wanting to join jihadist ranks in Syria was arrested on Thursday on her return to London, police reported.
The woman of 21 years ''was arrested on entering the UK after a flight from Istanbul has landed,'' the police said in a statement.
She is suspected of 'preparing terrorist acts,' police said.
Turkey expelled the woman, who was arrested Monday at a bus station in Ankara.
This week Turkey expelled three other Britons, some teenage boys, who allegedly tried to travel to Syria to fight.
